Edgar Carvalho defends the equilibrium between the selling and production of diamonds
11/08/2009
The Executive Secretary of the Association of Diamond African Producers Countries, Edgar de Carvalho, defended in Luanda the necessity of equilibrium between the selling and production of diamonds.
“We need to establish equilibrium between the production and selling of Diamonds to compensate the losses and avoid the abandon of concessions, the Angolan Government approved measures to enter the mining sector in case it’s necessary”.
To minimize the crisis effect in the diamondiferous sector, the Government intervention was called.
“In the first scenario, we ask the governments a direct intervention in the Diamond purchase, creating stocks to avoid the projects bankruptcy. In a second scenario, we are working equally with governments so there is an intervention in a sense to minimize the costs of production”.
