Catoca will register a production growth of 20%

The Director of Studies, Planning and Statisctics of Catoca Mining Society, that mentioned the actual phase of the diamondiferous project in Lunda-Sul, Dr. Paulo Bento Paulo, stated that the production growth will be 20%. Benedito Paulo Bento Paulo thought that the application of dimensioned measures for the control of the impact of the economic crisis in its production allowed maintaining the three thousand workers at the project. Bento Paulo projects for this year the removal of the mining gravel above the 19 million cubic metres.

“In what concerns the production levels for 2008, we have achieved what we wanted, in 2009, we are planning the removal of the volume of gravel that surpasses 23% of what was achieved in 2008. Even with the threats and problems, we are planning to remove 19 million, 681 thousand cubic metres of mining gravel”.

The Catoca Mining Society is an Angola company for prospection, mining, recovery and trading of Diamond. And behind this initiative there are companies ENDIAMA EP, Alrosa (Russian), Odebrecht (brasilian) and Daumonty (Israeli).
